The Chadds Ford Show in West Chester PA

Had a great time despite the rain in Chadds Ford on Sunday. Saturday brought around 4000 visitors to the show, not all taking in the art, but quite a few did and I sold a few paintings and 2 prints. Over all a nice show considering the weather and economic times. Hope next year brings more visitors and collectors of art. Meet some great artists and new friends!
William Ternay a wonderful painter and draughtsman. Loved his close palette paintings, which has made me think about my palette and it's range. You should visit his site! Also a hoot an artist by the name of Keith Hofmann, self taught original from Brooklyn New York via Maine and now in PA. Great sense of light and shadows!

I've been working a lot of plein-air this year including the winter. Finding out how much I like painting in the fresh air... Yeah sometimes the bugs get in the way or the cold brisk air and snow mixes with the paints and makes them unmanageable.
But it's that struggle that makes the painting and I get to take that back in the studio and utilize it internally on larger pieces as well!

Bruno Baran

This blog is about the art work I've created over the last 20 years.  From drawings and paintings to some photography as well as limited edition prints.  I'll be starting with newer work and commenting on ideas and theories that have influenced me in creating these pieces as well as their relationship to older pieces.  I'd love for some dialogue from others whether your an artist or not.  One only grows through open dialogue and honest criticism and I welcome all.

Just finished a many new pieces from working out in the fields of Harford County to the school I teach in John Carroll. Had a blast with teaching Plein-Air this past June. Hope they had just as much fun learning. I completed several paintings as demonstrations and did a lot of others pieces as well!
